Moore & Moore Newsletter/Autumn 2014

CHILLIN' IN AUTUMN

Even though the temps are still in the eighties in Tennessee, Autumn is at our back door.  A few leaves are falling here & there with just a hint of what’s to come.  Fall is actually my favorite time of year…  less bugs, tolerable temps and Oktoberfests!  Hopefully, we can all get out and enjoy the beautiful colors of Fall.

Did everyone have fun at the CMA Music Festival in June?  We did!  Moore & Moore’s shows went off without a hitch, and the Fan Club Party was fabulous with guests David Frizzell, Goldman Hills, Marty Haggard, Becky Hobbs, Jan Howard and Johnny Rodriguez.  Check out our Facebook pages for videos and photos of all the fun!  Congratulations to our Fan Club Member Award Winners!  The Fan Club Member of the Year Award was presented to Joe & Mary Saalman from Fremont, OH.  The Fan Club Member of the Decade Award went to Wayne Hauenschild from Florissant, MO and a special 20-Year Fan Club Member Appreciation Award went to Sandi Wichern from Baraboo, WI.  Thanks to everyone for your support and for attending the 17th Annual Party!  We’ll do it all again next year, so stay tuned.  If you’d like to hear Moore & Moore’s performance at the Durango Music Spot Stage on WSM during that week, it’s archived at: www.wsmonline.com/events/durango-music-spot/  Enjoy!

Debbie & Carrie have been working, writing and traveling.  They’re hoping to go back in the studio next year to work on their 7th album and have it available before 2015 is out.  We’ll have more information on that in the coming months.  They’re also planning a trip back to Ireland in November, this time with Jeannie Seely!  Keep checking the schedule, as there is a lot happening on the horizon.  The Nathan Osmond Cruise that was scheduled for December has now been changed to February 2015, with a couple more cruises in the works for next year, including one with Jeannie Seely, Marty Haggard, Tim Atwood and Ray Pillow traveling to the Bahamas in November 2015.

Moore & Moore enjoyed their time in Maine last month!  They performed at Country Fest Maine in Litchfield, but also took a mini vacation exploring Boothbay Harbor, Kennebunkport & Portland.  Debbie had never been to Maine (but has been to Spain!) ;-) -  but she was able to mark something off of her “bucket list” - seeing Puffins (nicknamed “sea parrots” or “clowns of the ocean”) in their natural habitat.  She was thrilled to see them at Eastern Egg Rock Island near Boothbay Harbor.  Debbie & Carrie both had a great time and hope to visit New England again soon.

Our next newsletter will be out in December.  In the  meantime, Happy Columbus Day, Happy Halloween and Happy Thanksgiving!

Vivian Moore, President

A NOTE FROM DEBBIE & CARRIE:

It’s Fall ya’ll!  We just got back from Illinois after singing backup for Janie Fricke at the Fall Festival in McLeansboro.  We love Janie!  We love her music, and she’s a joy to work with.  Mr. “Rose Colored    Glasses” himself, John Conlee, was also on the show and his band backed Janie.  Fan club members and friends, Bob & Cathy Hubbard drove a few hours from Indianapolis to be there, and we all had a blast together!  Thanks to Jerry & Judy Prince for your above and beyond hospitality and to everyone who worked so hard to make the festival fabulous.  It was a great night in one of our favorite little towns!

We’ll be headed to Colorado later this month to perform with T.G. Sheppard at the Stargazers Theatre in Colorado Springs on November 1.  We’ll be flying on Halloween night, so that should be interesting, but hopefully, not scary in any way. ;-)  We’re going to stay an extra day in CO to see the sights.  It has been several years since we’ve performed in that area, so we’re looking forward to it.  We love to travel and see more than just the venue and hotel, although we do love getting on stage—that’s the best part!  We’re also looking forward to going back to Ireland with our wild and wonderful friend, Jeannie Seely!  You know that will be fun!  We also plan to take a  couple extra days there to once again, sightsee in Dublin.  Love that beautiful city!  We may have to visit the Guinness Brewery again just for quality control. ;-)  We have other excursions/shows in the works, including some 2015 Texas performances, so we’ll keep you posted.

We can’t believe it’s October already.  Before you know it, there will be frost on the pumpkins and we’ll be putting up our Christmas trees!  We say it all the time, but where does the time go?  Hopefully, not too much time will go by before we see ya’ll again… maybe on the road, in Nashville, or even overseas!  We also hope to get back in the studio before long.  We’ve been writing some new songs and can’t wait to get them recorded and start working on a new album.

Happy Birthday to “Saint Vivian”, our sweet mom & fan club president!  She’ll be a spunky 83 years old on October 29.  We’ll have to take her out on the town and celebrate!

We hope all of you are doing well and making plans to enjoy the upcoming Fall festivals and holidays with family and friends.

Take care of each other, and keep in touch!

Debbie & Carrie
