Moore & Moore Newsletter/Spring 2012
Happy Spring! It’s been a mild winter in Tennessee, and although the warm weather has been nice, the tornadoes that have gone along with it have been devastating. My heart goes out to everyone affected by the recent storms. We got caught in a hail storm in Florence, AL, and an F1 tornado touched down in Kingston Springs, TN, but we are all fine with no injuries and no damage to our homes. Thank God! Let’s hope the rest of the season is less eventful weather-wise.
We just got back from the George Lindsey Film Festival in Florence, AL. George received a well deserved honor by having a theater named after him! The Performance Hall was named after his good friend, Ernest Borgnine, who was also in attendance. He is such a nice man and is surprisingly spry at 95 years old! We spent the weekend enjoying their company, the Film Festival and the lovely town of Florence. Except for the storm that came through that briefly interrupted the festivities, it was a fun and memorable weekend! Congratulations to George & Ernie!
Debbie & Carrie are putting the final touches on their new album, “Show Me Your Country”. They’re cutting it close, but they hope to have it ready by the end of this month, and available in the UK soon for their upcoming mini tour of Scotland and England! The official release will take place at the 15th Annual Moore & Moore Fan Club Party at the Nashville Palace on Thursday, June 7th at 6pm! We hope to see you there!
On Friday, June 8th during Fan Fair week, Moore & Moore will participate in a fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, at the Music City Bar & Grill. Join Debbie & Carrie, Lulu Roman, Donna Douglas, Georgette Jones, Billy Yates, Eric Holmgren, Bobby G. Rice, Hee-Haw Honeys— Victoria Hallman and Diane Goodman— and many more for food, fun and music as they rally together for St. Jude’s! BGA Entertainment is hosting the event. Tickets are only $10 and VIP Meet & Greet tickets are $25.00. Order them online at: https://www.wepay.com/events/12165.
We’ll let you know Moore & Moore’s schedule during Fan Fair week as more events are announced, and I’ll get the newsletter out in early June so you can be in the loop before you head to Nashville!
I’m looking forward to spending St. Patrick’s Day with my son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren in Tennessee with Debbie & Carrie, then I plan to spend some time in Missouri with the grandkids. After that, I have to get back to Tennessee to take care of the grand-dogs! Until we meet again, Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Happy Birthday to Debbie & Carrie on March 25th, Happy Easter, Happy Mother’s Day and Happy Memorial Day! - Vivian Moore, President
A Note from Debbie & Carrie:
Hello Lads & Lassies! We’re getting ready for our tour to Scotland & England with work visas and passports in hand! We will be touring with Johnny Rodriguez and Jerry Kilgore throughout our mini UK tour, and will also perform with Moe Bandy and Joey & Rory in Scotland at the Northern Nashville Caithness Country Music Festival. We will be in the Northern Highlands on Easter weekend. It will probably be a wee bit “Baltic” (as the Scottish might say), but we know the people will be warm! We’re looking forward to it. We also plan to sightsee for a couple days in London. Can’t wait!
Our new CD is almost complete! We have been working feverishly to have it ready before we leave the country. If you’re traveling to Nashville in June, you can pick one up at our fan club party! It will also be available for purchase/download at CDBaby.com, I-Tunes, Spotify, Napster, Amazon, etc., so look for it! The title track is “Show Me Your Country” and contains 10 original songs. We were thrilled to have Deborah Allen join us in the studio on the song “Not Tonight, I’ve Got A Heartache”! It’s a swinging little song with lots of harmonies (written by Carrie) that we think you’ll love!
We recently did a video interview with Christian Lamitscha from Country Music News International. You can find it at: http://countrymusicnewsinternational.blogspot.com. Click on video interviews and search for “Moore & Moore”, or you can find it on our Facebook page. While you’re there, we hope you’ll “Like” us! :-) :-)
We really enjoyed attending the George Lindsey Film Festival in Florence, Alabama this month. We were thrilled for George and Ernie Borgnine having their namesakes on a theater and performance hall! We were also happy to meet actor, Michael Rooker, and honored to present the music video award at the Film Festival Awards show!
We hope to see you all in June, if not before. Check out our road schedule and come see us!
Take care and keep in touch… Debbie & Carrie
