Moore & Moore Newsletter/Spring 2015
Spring has sprung, or at least it’s thinking about it! I’m sure everyone is ready for it after the record-setting winter we’ve had! Tennessee winters usually aren’t too bad, but we’ve gotten quite a bit of snow & ice recently, and I seem to have a chill in my bones all of the time anyway. Guess I’ll just have to get used to it and try to keep warm with good memories. ;-)
Debbie & Carrie have been laying low but working hard. Their latest single, “Not Tonight, I’ve Got A Heartache” (written by Carrie) went all the way up to #8 on the European Hot Disc Chart in February! M&M are busy writing songs and figuring out the best time frame to get back in the studio to record a new album. They’ve also been to a few shows in Nashville to see friends perform, including “Soul Man”, Sam Moore! Sam recorded a song with them on their “Master Of My Own Destiny” album, and they also did “Music City Tonight” together as “Moore & Moore & Moore”!
M&M will be doing a benefit concert this month (March) for the Music City Animal Rescue, a cause near and dear to their hearts. The concert will take place on the 14th in Franklin, TN with David Frizzell, Highway 101 and Anita Stapleton. Check out the schedule for the details. Not only will there be great entertainment, but also a BBQ dinner, silent auction, a photo booth, commemorative CD and more! Moore & Moore will also perform at the Nashville Palace on the 18th with host, Moe Bandy and an impressive list of artists he put together to benefit songwriter, Whitey Shafer. It will be quite a show with over 20 artists contributing their time & talent to help raise funds for Whitey’s medical expenses. And, speaking of the Nashville Palace… that’s where the Moore & Moore Fan Club Party will take place again this year. Save the date—it’s Wednesday, June 10th! We’re still putting the artist schedule together, so stay tuned! It’s going to be a fun night and again, only a $5.00 cover!
Another benefit will happen in April with M&M and a group of Grand Ole Opry stars becoming Celebrity Waiters for an evening to support the Family Center for Child Abuse Prevention in Murfreesboro, TN. Keep an eye on the tour dates… there’s a lot brewing. ;-)
Our next newsletter will be out in early June so we can let you know what will be happening during the CMA Music Festival in Nashville, June 11-14. Until then, Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Happy Spring, Happy Birthday to Debbie & Carrie on March 25, Happy Easter, Happy Mother’s Day and Happy Memorial Day!

A Note from Debbie & Carrie
The year of 2015 started out on one of the saddest notes ever with the loss of our dear friend, Little Jimmy Dickens. We loved him SO much. His “Celebration of Life” at the Grand Ole Opry House would have made him proud. He was a living icon, but as down to earth as they come, and truly the sweetest man we have ever known. Small in stature, but gigantic in the eyes of so many, he will be sorely missed.
We also recently lost our friend, Joe Guercio, who was a conductor and arranger and Elvis Presley’s bandleader during the 1970s. Joe was so much fun to be around and had so many interesting stories to tell! Google him on the internet and read about his life. He was amazing, and we know that Elvis will be very glad to see him again. :-)
During the terrible weather recently, our long time friend and awesome guitar player, Dan Justice, aka “Candy Man” slipped on the ice and broke his hip and had to have hip replacement surgery! He’s in good spirits considering, but please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
We’ll be going in the studio sometime in the next few months to start on our new album. We’re also getting our fan club party entertainment lined up, and if everything goes right, we should have some big announcements soon. We think it will be another great party on June 10 at the Nashville Palace! We’ll be taking part in some benefit concert/events in the next few months to raise funds for Music City Animal Rescue, Whitey Shafer’s medical expenses, Child Abuse Prevention and Country For A Cause, so check our schedule, and if you’re in the neighborhood, come support some great charities and enjoy the camaraderie and entertainment!
We’re going to Arizona this month to visit our sister, Dee, and to celebrate our birthday somewhere WARM! Can’t wait! We’ll be like Sister Sledge… “We are family, I’ve got all my sisters with me!” :-) Happy Spring!
Love, Debbie & Carrie
