Debbie & Carrie had a great time in the United Kingdom!  They performed in Scotland at the Northern Nashville Caithness Country Music Festival with Moe Bandy, Joey & Rory and more, then traveled to England for shows with Johnny Rodriguez and Jerry Kilgore.  They were also on BBC television and did several radio interviews with the BBC.   They were happy to visit the Beatles Museum in Liverpool, and after the tour, they were able to relax for a few days to do some sightseeing in London.  Check out photos of their latest adventures on their Facebook page!

I’m looking forward to seeing everyone at the fan club party and around town in Nashville.  It’s always good to see old friends and catch up.  If you have joined or re-joined the fan club recently, your kits/packages will be in the mail as soon as possible.  I’m running a little behind again!  Our next newsletter will go out in September.  Until then, Happy Father’s Day, Happy Independence Day and Happy Labor Day!   Have a GREAT SUMMER!

A NOTE FROM DEBBIE & CARRIE:

It’s been a very sad time for us, and frankly, very hard to write about.  As you probably know, we lost our dear friend, George “Goober” Lindsey on May 6, 2012.  We are completely heartbroken.  We are thankful that we were able to spend quality time with him in March at his Film Festival in Florence, AL.  George was like family to us, and we will miss him more than anyone will ever know.

We did have a nice time traveling to the UK in April and meeting so many wonderful people.  The tour was a little grueling at times, but we were doing what we love and were able to see parts of the world that we’ve never seen before.  Scotland was absolutely gorgeous!  We flew into Edinburgh, crossed over the Loch Ness in Inverness, and stayed in Thurso.  We visited the town of John o’ Groates, the northernmost point of mainland Great  Britain.  We were hoping to see some puffins (birds indigenous to the area), but no luck.  Maybe next time!  We also visited several castles including the Castle of Mey—the Queen Mother’s home in Caithness.  In our travels to England, we stayed in Liverpool and visited the Beatles Museum, along with some quaint little towns on the tour including Watton.  There, we enjoyed sipping coffee at the cafe, pints at the Willow House Inn and some shopping in the town centre.  After the tour, we were able to really relax and enjoy sightseeing in  London.  We saw St. Paul’s Cathedral, Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, the London Eye and many other attractions.  We even went on a “Jack the Ripper” walking tour.  It was kind of scary, but really, very interesting.

We got back to the states in time to get over our jet lag, unpack and rest a little before our good friend, Jeannie Seely, invited us backstage at the Grand Ole Opry for Keith Urban’s induction!  It was so cool to be there.  He is the sweetest man and we are very happy for him.  (Nicole was there too!)  Thank you Jeannie!

We are looking forward to spending time and catching up with our fans/friends during the crazy week we all know and love as “Fan Fair” aka the CMA Music Festival!  It’s been awhile since we’ve seen some of you.  We hope you can make it to Nashville for the fun-filled week!   Can’t wait for the party and the CD release!

Love you all,

Debbie & Carrie
