Moore & Moore Newsletter/Winter 2017

Blue Christmas

Christmas will not be the same without our sweet “Mama Moore”.  She left this world for her heavenly home on May 8, 2017.  Although we know she’s safe in the arms of Jesus, the holidays will be lonely.

We’re at a crossroads about the future of the fan club and the annual fan club party.  If we do have another party during CMA Fest week, we may have to change venues.  We’re still weighing our options.  As far as the fan club goes, we could possibly continue by having an online fan club with updates on our website and social media pages, but we have honestly lost the desire to continue “business as usual”  since the death of our dear mother and fan club president.  She was also our biggest fan!

Right after mom’s graveside service in Missouri, we hit the road with shows in Colorado and Texas and tried to stay busy.  The 20th Annual Fan Club Party in June was wonderful, and we thank you, our friends and fan club members, for being there for us.  We also want to thank our special guests— Moe Bandy, James Carothers, Barbara Fairchild, Dave  Rowland (Dave & Sugar), Jeannie Seely, T.G. Sheppard, Johnny Rodriguez, Joe Hott, Julie Keech Harris, Aubry Rodriguez and Dianne Sherrill  - for their time, talent, love, support and friendship. The shows we’ve had on the road this year have also been a great reprieve from the stress and sorrow.

We ask you to bear with us as we make this transition in our lives.  We will keep you posted and let you know about future shows and happenings.  We’ll still be singing! :-) Please check out our current itinerary and come see us!  Any last minute changes and/or new bookings will be added to our tour schedule on our website on a regular basis.

We do have some fun shows coming up!  We’ll be braving the weather once again and heading to Wisconsin this month with Janie Fricke to perform at the St. Croix Casino in Danbury.  If you recall, we traveled in a snow storm last December with Mickey Gilley and Johnny Lee to the “Dairy State”.  Guess we’re gluttons for punishment, or maybe we’re just “dreaming of a white Christmas”?  Hope to see some fans and friends there to keep us warm & toasty! ;-)

What are you doing New Year’s Eve?  We’ll be at the Welk Theatre in Branson, MO  ringing (and  singing) in 2018 with our friends, Bill Anderson, Moe Bandy, Janie Fricke, Jeannie Seely and T.G. Sheppard!  That’s going to be a heckuva show!  Come join us!  Go to www.upcloseconcerts.com, or check out our tour schedule for more information.

We’re working on new shows for 2018 and it looks like we’ll be spending quite a bit of time in Texas next year.  We’ll also be going back to Branson in October 2018 for a morning show with Janie Fricke and Jeannie Seely.  We’ll ALL need lots of coffee for that one!

It’s been a good year considering our great loss.  We filmed a new video in Panama City Beach for our song, “Sand In Our Shoes”, with Billy Yates (written by Billy & Debbie).  If you haven’t seen it, it’s on our website, YouTube and social media pages, or just Google it. ;-)  The song went all the way to #2 on the UK HotDisc chart!  We have worked shows on the road with Moe Bandy, Lacy J. Dalton, Narvel Felts, Janie Fricke, David Frizzell. Kelly Lang, T.G. Sheppard, Shenandoah and more.  We were also honored to perform on the Grand Ole Opry again with Janie Fricke!  We celebrated Jeannie Seely's 50th Anniversary on the Opry and on the Midnite Jamboree.  She recently received the Honors Award from the Nashville Association of Talent Directors, and we were right there to celebrate with our amazing friend, aka "Miss Country Soul"!

And... to put the cherry on top and close out 2017, we just received some GREAT news!  Moore & Moore has been selected as a 2018 Durango Boots Ambassador!  Is that awesome or what?  We love our Durango Boots!  They're so comfortable, and we can't wait to rock them on stage with "an attitude".  ;-)  We're excited!

Thanks to our friends and loved ones have helped us through this tough year.  We feel for anyone who has lost a friend or family member this past year, including Mel Tillis’ family and Reggie Mac’s family.  Life will never be the same, and the holidays will hurt, but we’ll all make it through.  We just have to know that God has a plan for all of us, and we will see our loved ones again someday.

We love you all, and we appreciate your prayers.  Our prayers are also with you!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and much love from “the Durango twins”.  :-) :-)

Love,

Debbie & Carrie
