Moore & Moore Newsletter/Autumn 2015

Turning Over A New Leaf

Autumn is knocking on Summer’s door, but the heat is refusing to leave Nashville.  Guess we get to enjoy a little more sunshine before the sweater weather creeps in and makes us all bundle up.

It’s been a crazy summer!  CMA Fest was a lot of fun, and the Fan Club Party was one of the best yet.  What an incredible line-up!  Thanks to the talented artists who took the time from their busy schedules to entertain the amazing and fun people in our fan club!  Congratulations to  our fan club member award winners!  Fan Club Members of the Year—JIM & DIANE FURLONG; Fan Club Members of the Decade— JIM “TREES” & WANDA TRESTER; 20-Year Fan Club Member Appreciation Award—MARY COLLINS.  Let’s do it again next year, what do you say?  Mark your calendars for Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the Nashville  Palace for the 19th Annual Moore & Moore Fan Club Party!

Debbie & Carrie flew to Providence, Rhode Island in July with their band to perform with Nathan Osmond.  In August, they traveled to Addison, New York with Marty Haggard for the Twin Rivers CB Jamboree, and recently returned from Texas after having fun in the Lone Star State with Moe Bandy and his band.  Check out the schedule to see where they’ll be next, and take a little road trip!  The latest updates are on the website at or keep up with them on Facebook at

I wanted to give everyone a heads-up, but we’re thinking seriously about cutting back on the frequency of our fan club newsletters.  Right now, we mail them out 4 times a year, but we’re pondering cutting it back to 2 times a year.  It’s getting harder for me to keep up with it.  After all, I’ll be 84 in October!  ;-)  We’ll wait to cut back until June of 2016, since that’s the renewal month for most of our members, but wanted to let you know that it’s on the horizon.  We’ll keep you posted, and you’ll still be able to stay in the loop with the latest news and keep in touch via the website and social media.

After CMA Fest , I went to Alabama for a nice visit with my sister and brother-in-law.  After that, I flew to Missouri to see the old homestead and try to salvage a few things before it was sold.  The house that our family lived in for 50 years sold on July 6.  Of course, it was bittersweet.  It ‘s nice to not have the responsibility of keeping up with the repairs and expenses of owning an older home, but it’s hard to say goodbye to a place you’ve known most of your life.  Guess you have to take the memories with you.  I should probably keep most of them in my head and heart , and get rid of everything else, but that’s hard to do, at least for me!  My place of  residence is now officially in Tennessee, but I still plan to visit Missouri now and again.  I also flew to Florida last month to see my son and grandson, so life is good!

Our next newsletter will be out in December.  Until then, Happy Grandparents’ Day (9/13), Happy Columbus Day, Happy Halloween, Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Fall, ya’ll!

A Note From Debbie & Carrie:

Can’t believe Autumn is almost here… we already feel like we’ve been through a season of CHANGE!  Our childhood home has been sold in Missouri, and we’ve also lost some dear friends recently here in Tennessee.  God rest the souls of Lynn Anderson, Tandy Rice and Jeff Walker.  They made a difference in our lives, and a lot of other people’s lives.  They will be missed!  Our prayers are with their families.

We want to say thanks to all of you who attended our fan club party in June.  A special thanks to the artists who went out of their way to be there for us and to entertain everyone.  We pulled it off again, and had a blast!

We’ve been enjoying performing and traveling.  Rhode Island was so beautiful and FUN!  The people were warm and the scenery was gorgeous, and of course, we always enjoy working with Nathan Osmond!  Whenever we fly to gigs, we like to take an extra day to sightsee, so we can see more than just the hotel and venue!  We went to Narragansett Beach and Point Judith Lighthouse and also took a gondola ride down the river in Providence.  The weather was perfect as we sipped wine and our gondolier sang to us.  Of course, we had to join in now & then with some harmonies!  We all broke out in song every time we went under a bridge to take advantage of the awesome acoustics.  So much fun!

We really enjoyed traveling with our band and Marty Haggard on the bus to Addison, NY to perform at the Twin Rivers CB Jamboree!  Our longtime friend and fan club member, Vince Buzzeo, came to our show and brought along two of his children, Joshua and Sophia.  It was so great to finally meet them and spend some time together.  We also enjoyed visiting on the bus with Jim & Diane Furlong, our 2015 Fan Club Members of the Year!  David Church and his wife Terri also stayed an extra day after performing at the jamboree the day before us.  It was great to catch up with them again!  It’s always nice to see familiar faces in unfamiliar territory, but everyone there made us feel right at home.

When we traveled to TX in August, we stayed an extra day and were blessed to be able to attend Lakewood Church in Houston and see Joel Osteen!  It was one of the most amazing experiences of our life.  If you’re ever near there, make it a point to visit.  You won’t be disappointed!  We really enjoyed the company of Moe Bandy and his band, and the wonderful people in Lovelady, TX and the surrounding area.  God bless Texas!  Hope to go back again next year!

We have shows coming up in KY, MO and WI, so come see us if you can!  Enjoy the glorious days of Autumn, & Happy Birthday to Mama Moore on October 29! :-)

Love, Debbie & Carrie
